My Perfect Weekend... |
|
| Who says single moms can't take a well deserved breather sometimes? As a single mom with a lovely 18-year old daughter, I think it is okay to relax from time to time. So I went to some of the attractions in Fort Myers with my only daughter to enjoy one great weekend. First we went to Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve at 3410 Palm Beach Blvd. It's a nice 2,500-acre wetland which serves as a home for different animals and plants. I think having a place like this in Florida is a great thing. We joined the guided walk tour at 9:30. The hike was physically tiring but very rewarding in the end. We saw some wild pigs, birds and alligators, too. Lunch was at Mr. Mee's. It's an Asian Restaurant just 15 minutes from Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. My daughter was craving for a great sushi and going to this restaurant was not a waste of money and time. They really know how to do and cook Asian dishes the proper way. I must say Mr. Mee's at 5100 S Cleveland Ave. is the best Asian restaurant in the area. Then we drove to Sun Harvest Citrus at 14810 Metro Parkway. The place is a citrus haven! They have citrus juice, fruit baskets, gourmet foods and more. What's great about the place is that you are given samples of the produce and juices. During our second day in Fort Myers, my daughter and I went to Tanger Outlet Center at around 11 am. I've heard from an coworker at the office that this place is where you can buy designer label items directly from the manufacturers. I was able to buy a chic designer bag and saved a lot! It's a great find actually. For dinner, we went to an Italian restaurant named Cipriani Pizza and Pasta. I loved the Fettuccini Alfredo and the tiramisu was divine. |
